Men’s Shorty Leather Driving Gloves By Damascus Gloves

Men’s Shorty Leather Driving Gloves By Damascus Gloves Review

I had been looking for an inexpensive, plain leather, half finger driving glove for the longest time, when I came across these on Amazon. These gloves are exactly what I want in an affordable, effective driving glove. They are made from stretchy, soft, real leather, unlined on the inside for good “sport feel” when behind the wheel. The thumb and palm areas have double stitching, which I know from experience to be critical. I don’t really care for the elastic gathers at the wrist, which make the glove a little harder to put on and take off, but they do help pull the leather tight against the hand, contributing to that smooth feel and solid grip. The velcro closures are the right length and attached cleanly. The knuckle holes don’t quite reach my knuckles, but again, the glove is so comfortable and close-fitting, that doesn’t really matter. Be warned, though, that I found the company’s size chart to be unreliable. I measured my hands as instructed and was solidly in the “Medium” range, but when the gloves came, I could immediately tell I would not even be able to get them past my knuckles. Fortunately, the return process is easy, free, and pretty quick, with the company sending me a postage-paid label to use on the original packaging. The “Large” size that came as a replacement fit very tight, and I would have preferred a little looser fit, but I’m confident these will stretch and become more comfortable as I wear them. I would suggest that if you know your glove size from another manufacturer, you order what you think your size is and not use the company’s size chart. If you use the company’s size chart, I think you’re better off going ahead and adding one size to whatever you measure up to, then be prepared to exchange them if they still don’t fit. All said, though, the glove is solidly made, comfortable, and the company’s service and support are very good, making these gloves some of the most useful and economical available anywhere.

Overview
The classic look of a driving glove, with an open back, knuckle cutouts, and perforated leather along the fingers, but in a half finger cut. An economical approach to hand and palm protection.
